The importance of education is supreme. The first verse to be revealed in the Quran said: "Read!" We cannot unfold our potential without having an education. We cannot unfold our potential without having an education. I believe that everything is potentially present in me. How should I convert that potential into actuality? For this, education is essential. The more education you have, the more study you have done, the more prepared a mind you will be. Education makes a person a prepared mind. Without education you cannot have a prepared mind. You will not be able to understand realities. This is why education is very important. 
                                  These days, people take education as preparation for a profession. They take it in the sense of professional education. That is, studying, holding a degree and taking a job. This is a very low level of utilization of education, and not a high kind of utilization. 

A greater use of education is to make yourself a prepared mind which can grasp higher realities of life. If you bring to our gathering people who are uneducated, they will not be able to understand anything. They will not be able to understand our terms nor our language. This is why I say that our target is the educated people. This is because educated people are prepared minds. In this sense, education has great importance.
